Contributions to Photography News are always welcome.
WHAT TO SUBMIT:
- Photo essays:
Photography News accepts both narrative and thematic photo essays. The narrative essay tells a story through a sequence of events or actions, following an individual, community or activity over a period of time and present this story in chronological order. A thematic photo essay focuses on a central theme (e.g. homelessness, poverty, etc.) and presents photos relevant to that theme.
- A single image to be featured as the Photo of the Day:
For stand-alone images, we accept one piece at a time.
For photography books, software, camera reviews, press releases, photography events, featured profiles of photographers, or other featured content please refer to the Advertise section of this website.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
- Digital images should be saved as jpg, 72dpi, and 600-800 pixels on the longest side.
- Please include an introductory commentary (text length of your choice) with each photo essay you submit.
- Photo essays will consist of 5 to 10 photos.
- Each submission must have a caption including a brief description of the image as well as precise information about the location, date and time the photograph was taken. Please identify individuals where possible. Submit the captions for your photos in the body of your email or within a document denoting which caption goes with which photo.
- Add a brief bio-note (1-3 sentences) that will be included with your piece if published.
- Be sure to provide your name, country and a link to your online portfolio so we may credit your photographs accurately.
- All submissions or inquiries about submissions should be made via email at info[at]photography-news[dot]com
- Please put "Photo Essay" in the email subject line when submitting photo essays and "Photo of the Day" when submitting single images.
- Please proofread to avoid typos and grammatical errors.
