Britain iS: iStockphoto and the Guardian call for entries

Subject: Britain iS

Deadline:
February 25, 2010

Description: It's been almost a decade since iStockphoto launched its online creative community, creating an industry and changing how the world shares, buys and sells photography. To celebrate this momentous occasion and British creativity, iStockphoto and The Guardian are launching a nationwide competition to find the images that best define contemporary Britain in 2010.
Britain iS celebrates the British zeitgeist. The photo contest aims to present a wide range of unique views: from city streets to open spaces; what's happening- from the traditional to the avant garde; from the ephemeral to the enduring and the dizzying mix of faces and cultures – which altogether help define the evolving concept of Britishness today.

Prizes: The competition is split into four categories covering best urban, landscape, culture and stock photography– with cash prizes of £500 for the best photo in each category. There's also an additional £1500 prize for the photo judged best of competition.

Eligibility: The Guardian iStock Britain iS competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over.
