Bucharest, Jan 4, 2010 /Romaniapress/ - The Romanian Photographer Artists Association (RPAA) is organising the first national edition of a Festival called The Month of the Romanian Photography to begin in Oradea (northwest of the capital) on Monday, Jan. 4.

'We have planned to organise the Month of Romanian Photography every year, since it is linked to the anniversary of the Day of the Romanian Photographic Art on January 11, when the most representative photographer-painter of Romania and the first war news photographer in the world, Carol Popp de Szatmary was born', said RPAA president Stefan Toth, who initiated the event.

The festival is sponsored by the Romanian Ministry of Culture, Religious Affairs and Heritage and the Romanian Cultural Institute based in Budapest and it schedules several exceptional exhibitions to be opened both in Bucharest and in the most important centres of photographic art in Romania (Arad, Botosani, Craiova, Iasi, Odorheiul Secuiesc, Oradea, Marghita, Ploiesti, Ramnicu-Valcea, Slatina and Targu-Mures) as well as in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.
