Ms Stone said: "It's not the kind of publication I would ever choose to appear in."

She added: "Playboy had no right to publish these unauthorised photographs. I feel I have no option but to take steps to protect my reputation."

Lara Stone has instructed lawyers Schillings to commence proceedings in Paris against French Playboy and photographer Greg Lotus.

It depends on whether she signed a model release and what the release stated. It also depends on whether her compensation could be considered as reasonable for the use of the photos. If she signed away her rights in a release it will be much harder to undo her release depending on the laws of the country. It also depends on the law of the country she signed the release in or modeled in and how they pertain to the release she signed. If I were her I would have all my contracts looked at by an attorney from now on. I know playboy shoots in the US cost a lot of money and the models that they use could make as much as $100K per shoot. I am guessing
she was paid a lot of money for the shoot that she did. I am also guessing that if she did sign a contract it was written by attorneys and Playboy has a crew of attorneys that just handle lawsuits such as this.

As a professional photographer, and one that's done PB shoots it's known that we always get model releases. Though I also always state to a model what publications things are being submitted I professionally feel that a model has the right to agree to where her body is to be shown. Though this seems to more for publicity than anything; she's a known celeb. that posed nude? Right!, and didn't think that photos wouldn't end up in PB. It's for the publicity and to put her name into the media machine. Plus get the images circulated into the machine.
