Video: Helena Christensen Plays Photographer in 'Blow-Up' Tribute
A commission to celebrate the opening of the new W Hotels at Leicester Square, the 10 minute short Away We Stay is written and directed by Edoardo Ponti, showing ficticious W hotel guest and photographer Alex Worthington (Helena Christensen) stuck in what the W Hotels describes as “a romantic tale of love, life and the choices we make in the middle,” after she meets the very charming Adam (David Gandy).
Away We Stay is supposedly the first from a series of short advertorial films for the W Hotels, and it takes as its creative reference the 1966 British Film classic Blow-Up produced by Edoardo’s father Carlo Ponti.
"Because my father produced the original, I was reticent, but I thought if I could flip the genders of the main character, take the Vanessa Redgrave character and make the female the photographer, it might have some contemporary meaning.” Edoardo Ponti says.
'The original Blow-Up is a very unusual movie in so many ways and I thought it was an honour to be part of making a tribute to this cult classic', Christensen told Vogue.com.
