2011 Days in Japan International Photojournalism Awards

The monthly photojournalism magazine DAYS JAPAN, launched in March 2004 in response to the burgeoning demand for quality reporting from the world’s many war fronts and conflicts that claim so many lives today, is now accepting entries for the 7th DAYS JAPAN International Photojournalism Awards contest to be held in 2011.

Theme: Defending and Advocating Dignity of Human Beings and Nature

Awards:

One First Prize: Trophy and Supplementary Prize (cash prize of 1 million Yen [approx. US$10,000] and a digital camera and lens were awarded in 2010)

Two Second Prizes: Trophy and Supplementary Prize (cash prize of 300,000 Yen [approx. US$3,000], digital cameras and lens were awarded in 2010)

Four Third Prizes: Trophy and Supplementary Prize (cash prize of 100,000 Yen [approx. US$1,000], compact cameras were awarded in 2010)

Eight Special Prizes by Jury: Trophy and Supplementary Prize (cash prize of 100,000 Yen [approx. US$1,000], digital camera lens and digital picture frames were awarded in 2010)

Four Public Prizes: Trophy and Supplementary Prize (cash prize of 100,000 Yen [approx. US$1,000] was awarded in 2010)

Winners will be announced in April 2011, with the works to appear in DAYS JAPAN magazine and on its website. Exhibitions will be held in major cities in Japan to publicly display the awarded works.

Eligibility: Any photographer may apply, regardless of age, occupation, gender or nationality.

Deadline: All works must be sent by postal delivery and arrive by January 14, 2011.
