Gemma Arterton and Andrew Garfield to Star in Mann's Robert Capa Biopic

December 27, 2010 /Photography News/ Andrew Garfield and Gemma Arterton are joining forces to star together in Capa, director Michael Mann’s adaptation of Susana Fortes’ novel Waiting for Robert Capa. The story focuses on the two-year romance between war photographers Gerda Taro and Robert Capa, both of whom died during combat.

According to Total Film, Andrew Garfield has been cast as Capa himself, while Gemma Arterton will play his partner and lover Gerda Taro.
The news comes from Arterton herself, who told Total Film: “I’m attached to about nine projects but I’m not sure which one’s I’m allowed to talk about. But I’m aiming for even more diversity. Capa is confirmed, so I should be working with your hottest actor, Andy Garfield!”

Gemma Arterton appeared this year in films like Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, while Andrew Garfield stared in The Social Network, Never Let Me Go, and is on tap to star as Peter Parker in the forthcoming Spider-Man reboot.

No official filming dates have been announced for the Capa biopic yet.
