VIDEO: Philippino Politician Photographs His Killer Just Before Assassination

January 5, 2011 /Photography News/ Reynaldo Dagsa, a councillor in Manila in the Philippines, was killed in front of his family moments after he pressed the shutter while taking the New Year’s Day family portrait.

The photo, which was distributed to police and the media by the Dagsa family, shows Dagsa's wife, daughter and another relative posing for a photograph. A man in the background is standing behind the family and another man wearing a backward baseball cap is holding a handgun whose muzzle is illuminated by the camera's flash.

Reynaldo Dagsa was shot and fatally wounded seconds after the photo was taken. The man identified as the gunman in the picture was arrested on Monday, police said.
