Ronaldo's Girlfriend Irina Shayk to Sue GQ Magazine Over Naked Pictures
Model Irina Shayk is considering legal action against GQ Spain after she was shocked to find nude pictures of herself in the December issue - despite wearing underwear for the duration of the shoot.
The 24-year-old Russian beauty, who has also modelled for Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated, has accused the magazine of airbrushing her image to make her look naked in three photographs in the spread.
According to UK newspaper the Daily Mail, Gael Marie, the managing director of Elite – Shayk’s modelling agency – said in a statement: 'Supermodel Irina Shayk is the victim of ‘Photoshop’ and breach of contract over photo approval in GQ Spain… [she] was Photoshopped to appear naked in three images of the 14-page spread.
'A contract was signed on behalf of Ms Shayk by Elite Model Management, where she was to have approval of the interview, cover and images and was refused that right by the publication.
'Ms Shayk was not nude and did not approve these images. Irina Shayk NEVER saw the images, cover or caption that was used in GQ Spain.'
Furthermore, GQ's front cover headline reads: 'The most beautiful animal in the world. Do you want to discover Ronaldo's girlfriend naked?'
Shayk’s modelling agency commented the front cover headline saying that 'this kind of statements are not only not true but also defamatory towards Ms Shayk’s persona and image this lack of professionalism and neglect towards the future of Ms Shayk’s modeling career in an effort to sell magazines is not only shocking but unacceptable from such an established and prestige publication as GQ.'
However, GQ Spain editor Javier Fernandez de Angulo, who was present during the shoot said that the 'model took her clothes off completely naturally,' adding that Irina could be 'annoyed because we put on the front cover that she's Ronaldo's girlfriend, and she asked us to avoid that.'
